Reciting a poem is a good way for a public speaker to develop his artistic skills.  That's why the Poetry Corner is an important item on the club meetings' agenda.

When you're in charge of the Poetry Corner, choose a poem, learn it by heart and recite it in an emotional, artistic way. Try not only to speak clearly and audibly, but to perform as an actor, playing on the pitch and timber of your voice, your gestures and facial expression.

At the beginning of your presentation you may say a couple of words about the author of the poem, its stylistic features and message, you may also comment on some difficult words and expressions that are in the poem, if you like.
