The Anchorperson of the meeting is the most challenging of all Meeting Roles, the success of the whole meeting depends on his skill, professionalism and charm.

The tasks of the Anchorperson are the following.

Before the Meeting Day

  • The Achorperson schedules the agenda of the meeting and puts it on the PSC website not later than 10 days before the meeting. While putting the agenda on the PSC website, the Anchorperson should ensure that there are no errors and typos in words and inconsistencies in timing.
  • Before the meeting day, the Anchorperson regularly reviews the comments to the agenda on the PSC website (to be aware, if some of the performers will not be able to present) and makes necessary corrections to the agenda.

During the Meeting Day

  • On the meeting day, the Achorperson comes not later than 14-30. He/she should print out 40 copies of the agenda in the AMC (aproaching the PSC admin team or an AMC librarian) or bring them printed beforehand.
  • Just before the meeting start, the Anchorperson checks whether all the participants are present, and consider whether (in rare emergency cases) any changes in the agenda are required.
  • During the meeting, the Anchorperson conducts the program: he/she opens and closes the meeting, introduces and thanks all the performers, reminds the members of the timing rules and holds the audience's attention with timely and witty remarks. The Anchorperson should be considerate and inventive, he should demonstrate a good sense of humor and quick reaction, he should be able to feel the public's mood and change it to the better.

Only an experienced club member, who is well aware of the Club Rules, traditions, the structure of the meeting and core club activities can do this job.
