Joke is really difficult and complicated communication techniques. In most cases it only looks like something easy. As you may see from audience evaluation not everybody understand what you where talking about.
+ you had interesting topic
-  you where standing with paper and were not acting.

Recommendations

  • If you want to tell a good joke you need to communicate on nonverbal level (moving, smiling but not standing on one place)
  • Try to demonstrate something on slides if you are not sure that funny story will be enough
